The Document Above is a Summary of Accounting Records made while at UCSF - for investigators. There were ten projects looked at; the first through fourth ones listed are the same bids for specifications reviewed by the State Auditor in their Report, also shown on this blog.
As one can see, the highest price project was the tenth listed. That structure sits on a flat, wide lot with easy access from at least one long side and accessible on two other sides, one long, from the sidewalk & street. It is only four stories high, and is brick-faced. The costs, even with moving HVAC cooling units, should have been way less.
One of the Project Managers told me, after hearing what I had discovered, "so that's why I kept getting told to add $15,000 or more for a 4 foot square area to add vents for new labs below up through the roofs." As those in the industry know, there is tear-off back into the older roofing system of at least two feet back into the existing roof when inserting roof penetrations and new roofing.
Even still, the price was enormous - approximately $5,660 per square (100 square feet) - or $566 per square foot.
