General Roofing Systems Announces RoofingLeadsOnline.Com Inclusion

Friday

FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE

December
13, 2012

General
Roofing Systems (GRS) today announced inclusion in the launch of
RoofingLeadsOnline.Com.

A roofing
referral system (beta) that matches roofing contractors requiring additional
business to contractors that cannot service new incoming business for one
reason or another. For the most part, this new opportunity for contractors
wanting to grow their business presents itself as a result of a new era in
online marketing. Simply put, the new digital age has created a new era in
contractor marketing.

General
Roofing Systems (GRS) has been expanding its contractor services in Western
Canada over the last four years, is currently expanding isolated divisions in
central and eastern Canada, and its online roofing marketing platform to the
USA in 2013. General Roofing Systems Canada (GRS), General Roofing Systems USA
(GRS) and affiliated trademarks and operating businesses will all register to
the marketing platform.

RoofingLeadsOnline.Com
has been piloting the “referral” lead generating platform in areas of Western
Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan - Vancouver, Calgary,
Edmonton, Red Deer, Saskatoon, and Regina) for some time now and officially
launches early 2013. It will be available to roofing contractors in most areas
of Canada and the USA early 2013 (starting in NY, Texas, and a few other select
areas shortly thereafter), with the UK and other countries expected to be
online in twelve to twenty four months.

“We’re
expanding availability in strategically chosen markets where there is strong
interest from roofing contractors that request our service and where specific
member contractors have strong marketing platforms with excess leads or low
capacity to service incoming inquiries due to growth and other reasons.”

“Traditional
online lead generating platforms and storm chasing appointment setting
telemarketers haven’t brought the desired result for many contractors.
Markets that have motivated roofing contractors who are interested in finding
ways to bring down their marketing and advertising costs and increasing their
business volume as a result of strong leads at the same time. In this case,
we’re providing a proprietary one of a kind marketing solution using an
un-serviced part of the contractor lead generating industry – referred leads
from reputable contractors that can’t service due to capacity. We believe the
only lead better than your own referral is a referral from a leading company in
your industry. This lead quality simply cannot be met by telemarketing, generic
online marketers, booking blind appointments, mailers, yellow pages, or any
other method.”

RoofingLeadsOnline.Com
is offered through a network of professional roofing contractors who have
successful businesses that cannot service specific inquiries due to capacity,
geography of inquiries, work scope, or as a result of a simple exit strategy or
downsizing.

For
reputable contractors needing more business or marketing power, this provides
an effective platform for them to obtain customers within a high quality
environment as files are from industry leaders, with a low customer acquisition
cost, paying as they go per file and with-out monthly or start-up fees, in a
way that allows for optimum cash-flow management.

Roofing
contractors purchasing leads can generate immediate savings, choose
specifically which are purchased to best suit their business, build their
business and be cash-flow positive from day one.

General
Roofing Systems (GRS) is already working with RoofingLeadsOnline.Com in Western
Canada, will be in Central and Eastern Canada within weeks, and with the US
expansion in 2013. As part of the

RoofingLeadsOnline.Com expansion, other
leaders in the roofing business have come on board and see it as a clever
solution to problems experienced by both the large and small contractor.

“This
collaboration represents the next step in our company growth. With our online
marketing growing it will be a realistic addition to our growth model. It will
enable us to focus on our core business pursuits while assisting other
contractors that may be better suited to service areas we are not.”

Roof and Attic Ventilation When Re-Roofing Your Home

Sunday

A roof ridge vent, as shown in this picture,

is ideal for attic ventilation.

Roof and Attic Ventilation Becomes Critical

Considerations for Homeowner's When Re-Roofing

General Roofing Systems Canada (GRS) Installs New Roofing With Properly Vented Roof and Attic Spaces in Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan. Roofing Calgary, Red Deer, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Lloydminster, Saskatoon, Regina, Medicine Hat, Lethbridge, Canmore, Cranbrook, Kelowna, Vancouver, Whistler, and points between.

When Re-Roofing Your Home, Consider the Complete Roof System and Not Just the Shingles

When re-roofing you home be sure to research your roof replacement and roof system options.

Beyond protecting the inside of your home, a new roof properly installed on your home with proper ventilation can last a long time if done correctly. A new roof can also increase curb appeal and increase the value of your home.

Some considerations before re-roofing:

Hiring the Right Roofing Contractor is Critical

Choosing the best roofing contractor isn't as simple as one may think at first glance. Does the roofing contractor have proper Licensing, WCB, BBB, Liability Insurance, and have any third party affiliations for compliance, who are their clients, what is their workmanship guarantee and so on?

GRS carries 5,000,000.00 liability insurance, is WCB registered and in good standing, we are registered, BBB accredited, members of a global compliance platform for capital intensive industry called ISNetworld, we maintain a Lifetime Roof Workmanship Guarantee, and our customers range from a residential shed re-roof to having over seventy five Fortune 500 companies on our roofing client reference list that trust GRS to protect their assets.

Does the roofing contractor look at a re-roof as a complete roof system or simply just re-installing shingles. This is very important for long term performance. A properly vented roof will last up to twice as long as an improperly vented attic space for instance.

Roofing Material Choices

The last ten years has seen an influx of options. Options for re-roofing are not just varied in terms of material but also each material category now has many options. This can become confusing and your reliance on a reputable and skilled roofing contractor will be paramount in this process.

Re-roofing materials include:

- Roof shingles made from asphalt, rubberized, fiberglass, and organic materials in the form of 3 tab, T Lock, Architectural, and more.

- Metal roof panels and metal shingles that can be interlocking style shingles, locking long panels, standing seam, steel shingles, coated steel, and more.

- Rubber shingles that are either rubber or SBS modified shingles or recycled rubber shingles.

- Concrete or clay roofing tiles which can be imitated or true clay or concrete roof tile. Metal shingles are now available that look like concrete or clay roof tiles. Even asphalt shingles are being made to look like slate, clay tile, and metal.

- Slate roofing is available in a real quarried slate form or pre-packaged slate such as TRU-Slate from GAF. Also available are shingles, clay and concrete tile, rubber, and metal roofs to look like slate or have a slate profile.

- Wood shingles are available in either a pine or cedar form and they are available in various grades and thicknesses.

Proper Attic Ventilation Becomes Critical

Proper attic ventilation allows for a continuous flow of fresh air to run through the attic. Proper air flow will protect the insulation's efficiency will assist in lowering the temperature below in your home.

Proper roof ventilation is a balance between air intake which occurs at the eaves or soffits of your home and air exhaust at or near the ridge of your roof.

A minimum of at least 1 square foot of attic ventilation for every 200 square feet of attic space is a common calculation for proper attic ventilation.

Proper calculation of attic ventilation reduces hot air build-up, moisture and condensation, weather infiltration and roof and gutter ice dam build-ups in the winter time.

Improper Roof and Attic Ventilation May Destroy Your Insulation, Wreck Your Shingles, and Your Home's Energy Bills will be more Costly

Have Your Roofing Contractor Inspect Your Roof and Attic Ventilation

A roofing contractor that has a positive interest in the long term performance of your new roof will inspect the roof and attic space.

If your roofing contractor does not or will not inspect your attic for proper air intake and exhaust and offer solutions that are reasonable (after you have investigated what proper ventilation and air-flow is meant to accomplish) then you know you have not hired the right contractor.

Interview Contractors! Check Over the Roofing Contractor's Plan for Installation Specifications, Check Accreditation, and the Roofer's Plan for Correction of Attic Ventilation

Your roofing contractor should have a published roof installation specification for your review. Whether it be in your sales contract, online, or simply on the estimate.

Check over the installation specifications closely. Check for proper consideration toward roof valleys, eave protection, underlayment, what kind of capping is being used, how the valleys are installed, how roof vents or what type of roof vent or ridge venting will be installed etc.

Interview roofing contractors you are considering and have them step by step explain the procedures they intend to use and why. Do this for each critical step of roof installation and attic ventilation consideration. Ask about their roofing company's purpose or philosophy toward what they do, ask about their roofers and why their roofers are experts, ask about their roofer's accreditation, look over and check reference or client lists, check with your local BBB for any unresolved customer issues, and be sure you get copies of their liability insurance and a WCB clearance.

Until Next Time,

The Team at GRS

How to Claim Hail Insurance Damage to Exterior: Roof, Siding, Skylight Hail Insurance

Saturday

Siding Repair Calgary, Alberta -
Recent Hail Storm in Calgary 2012

How to Process Insurance Claim for Roof or Siding Hail Damage

General Roofing Systems Canada (GRS) is a Comprehensive Exterior and Roofing Contractor Serving Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan. Roof, Siding, Gutter, and Exterior Home Hail Insurance Claim Repairs are Serviced in Calgary, Red Deer, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Lloydminster, Saskatoon, Regina, Medicine Hat, Lethbridge, Canmore, Cranbrook, Kelowna, Vancouver, Whistler, and points between.

How Do I Start a Claim for Exterior Roof, Siding, or Gutter Damage?

Do to the recent storms, our insurance claim staff have naturally been run off their feet with inquiries as to the process of filing a claim. Below is a step by step guide for filing a claim for damage to your home’s exterior.

Remember through the process that you are in control of who the roofing or siding contractors are that do the repair work.

If your home exterior has experienced significant hail damage the process to filing an insurance claim and getting your roof or siding repaired is quite easy in most instances.

1. Call your insurance company and inform them of the exterior damage to the roof, siding, gutters, fascia, soffit, etc.

2. If you have any concern with your insurance company or the process of filing a claim, contact the Insurance Bureau of Canada for guidance.

3. Your insurance company will dispatch someone to assess the damage to your roof or siding. This person typically is an estimator (inspector) or a roofer, depending on what the damage is.

4. Remember that the insurance companies are busy in a storm area. The hail claim process is quite simple but the volume of hail claims can inundate the insurance providers. Also, limited trades such as gutter installers, roofers, and siding repair installers can hold up claims.

5. While waiting for your insurance company and repairs to the storm damage you can as possible stop further damage from occurring by adding tarps to skylights or roofing etc. If you cannot get up on your roof or if it is unsafe, call a roof or siding contractor to help.

6. Be sure to take photos of the damage to roofing, skylights, soffit, fascia, flashing, siding, garage doors, house doors, windows, etc. Documentation of hail damage is important. Your siding or roofing contractor should be asked to provide a report if you request an inspection by them also.

7. Remember that you are in control or which roofing or siding contractor does the work. If you have a particular roofing contractor or sider that you prefer, be sure to contact them and have the contractor speak to the insurance company direct.
